Researchers Realize Controlled Synthesis of Au-Ag Heterodimer Arrays for High-Resolution Encrypted Information

A research group developed an antielectric potential growth method for large-area preparation of Au-Ag heterodimer arrays. The prepared patterned Au-Ag dimer arrays have information resolution up to the nanometer scale due to the multipolar coupling resonance between the Au and Ag components.

Nitrogen-doped Carbon Layers Boosts Efficiency and Stability of Nickel Catalysts at Room Temperature

Recently, the research team led by Researcher Wang Guozhong encapsulated metallic nickel in a nitrogen-doped carbon–silica composite (SiO2@Ni@NC) as a catalyst, which displayed good performance in vanillin hydrogenation in aqueous media. They found that it can afford 99.8% vanillin conversion and 100% 4-hydroxymethyl-2-methoxyphenol (HMP) selectivity at room temperature.
